What this site is

This site presents DEFRA's Strategic Noise Mapping (Round 4, 2022) by postcode, alongside Ordnance Survey open data. It is free to use for personal and research purposes.

No warranty — and not an official assessment

The data is modelled, dated 2022, covers major sources only, and is provided as-is. This site is not an official noise assessment, survey or legal search, and must not be relied on as the sole basis for a property purchase or legal claim. Where a decision matters, commission a professional acoustic survey.

Acceptable use

Don't scrape at volumes that degrade the service — if you want the data in bulk, see API & data access(it's cheap and sometimes free). Don't misrepresent this site's output as measured or official data.
